"Shirogane Blue Pond" Illumination Returns This Year☆

Shirogane Blue Pond Illumination Starts from October 25, 2024

The event will run from October 25, 2024 to April 23, 2025.

The Shirahige Waterfall illumination is available year-round.

Lighting Hours【From October 25 to April 23 next year, from times below until 9:00 PM】
October, November, January: From 5:00 PM
December: From 4:30 PM
February: From 5:30 PM
March: From 6:00 PM
April: From 6:30 PM

※During winter, the blue water surface cannot be seen due to snow
※December 31 to January 3, lighting hours extended until 2:00 AM the next day
※The event may be cancelled in case of severe weather. Notifications will be posted on Biei Town website
※Please do not enter areas outside viewing points. Especially, do not enter the pond

The Blue Pond illumination features various lighting patterns, expressing a story over approximately 10 minutes.
We’ve designed it so you can discover your favorite moment.
After the water freezes and snow accumulates, we modify the lighting program to enhance gradation and depth,
allowing you to better enjoy the interplay between stars and pond, snow and pond, and larch tree shadows.

Viewing paths may become crowded at certain times.
Those using tripods for photography are asked to avoid blocking the path.
※Cooperation Request: Maintaining appropriate distance at viewing spots allows everyone to enjoy the experience comfortably.

The path from the parking lot to the Blue Pond viewing spot is quite dark, so please use mini flashlights or smartphone lights, and be especially careful of steps.
