Tokachidake Volcanic Gallery
十勝岳ジオパークの、ストーリー１「北海道の屋根 十勝岳ものがたり」を学べる拠点施設で、十勝岳の火山活動や災害に関する様々な情報を発信する施設です。また、十勝岳の火山泥流の発生を24時間体制で監視しています。建物前の広場からは、十勝岳の火口群を見上げることができます。
Tokachi, wire sensors, vibration sensors, and monitoring cameras were installed after the 1988 eruption, and this information is centrally monitored by the Tokachi Volcano Erosion Control Information Center (Volga).
This facility is located in the Shirogane Onsen area, which is the most at risk, and serves as a front-line headquarters in the event of a predicted eruption or mudflow, as well as a temporary evacuation center for local residents. The exhibition room is usually open to the public, and visitors can learn about the eruption record of Tokachi-dake volcano and volcanic erosion control projects.
