７月24日は『那智美瑛火祭』が開催されます。
お車でお越しの方は、駅前、役場、町民センター、スポーツセンター等、公共駐車場をご利用頂き観覧場所まで徒歩でお越し下さい。
特に美瑛神社付近の路上駐車は、近隣の方のご迷惑になります。また、事故の原因にもなりますので、ご遠慮くださいますようお願い申し上げます。
『那智美瑛火祭』は、和歌山県の熊野那智大社で千年以上続く「那智の火祭」を譲り受け、平成元年より始まった、火と水を崇め、自然の恵みに感謝する神事で、美瑛町の繁栄と十勝岳の鎮静、大松明に書かれた願い事を祈願し、白装束姿の男たちが燃えさかる大松明を持ち、夜の街を練り歩き、その御神火を美瑛神社に納めます。燃え盛るこの大松明の炎は、原始の記憶を呼び起こさせ、心に迫りくるものがあります。
神聖でありながらも、大松明の炎の迫力と、祭りの熱気を間近で感じる事の出来るお祭りです。
